Having completed the HNC in Mechanical Engineering in May of this year, I applied to study a degree in Engineering at the Open University. I was recently accepted onto the course, starting out from the 2nd year, completely skipping the first!
I really enjoyed studying towards the HNC, relearning and dusting off my old maths skills and learning new techniques and ideas. It was particularly fun taking previously learned techniques from chemistry and pure maths, and reapplying them into practical engineering contexts; taking old, familiar ideas and finding them working in unfamiliar situations was incredible.
That I'm now taking this to (literally!) the next level is exciting and I can't wait to get started. Here we go...
